Low Complexity. Your first AI project should be technically straightforward. That means: clear inputs and outputs, repeatable patterns, existing data to work with, and available tools that can handle it without custom development.
Good signs of low complexity: the task follows the same steps every time, it involves text or structured data (not images or video), existing tools like Zapier or Make can handle the integration, and a human could explain the decision-making process in simple if/then logic.
Measurable Outcome. You need to be able to prove the project worked, with numbers. Hours saved per week. Errors reduced. Response time improved. Revenue recovered.
This isn't just about justifying the investment. It's about building organizational confidence in AI. When you can show that Project 1 saved 15 hours per week, the conversation about Project 2 gets a lot easier.
